The Tai Sui of 2010 - General Wu Heng

The Tai Sui of the Year 2010 - General Wu Heng

For the Year of the Tiger, the Tai Sui is The Great General Wu Heng. He was born during the Yuan Dynasty at Xin Chang. He was highly scholastic, talented and literate and he was also the district official of Li Yang from 1426-1435, he played a major role in spreading morality and helping people of less fortunate/weak. He was famous for eliminating corruption and misdeeds by government officials when he was promoted to the imperial court later on. Therefore , for the year of 2010, it’s not gong to be a year of war and military. For those who flout the law, it is a year of tough punishment. He’s an official who will be upholding law and order. Any wrong doings will provoke actions.

Afflicted Directions with Tai Sui - The Northeast and Southwest
It is advisable to avoid its locating position and its opposite direction. The position of Tai Sui in 2010 is at Northeast ranging from 52.5 to 67.5 degrees, there will be no happiness and misfortune is ahead. This direction will have geographical negative magnetic fields (shar chi) that could not be explained scientifically. If you are involved in any negotiations, you can capitalize these effects by sitting in the northeast and facing the southwest. Then your opponent will be facing the northeast and confronting the Tai Sui. That way, you will always be in the winning position. The traditional use of Pi Yao in this area will greatly help to appease the Tai Sui.

When curing with the Pi Yao, they must look ‘fierce’ and not be hidden from view. And there must be metal element involved. Metal here refers to real gold or strong metal.. They not only protect one from difficulty, but also bless one in gaining luck and fortune.

No construction work should be undertaken in this Northeast sector of the house, including repair work. If this sector is disturbed, those staying in the house will have a tough year ahead with a lot of arguments and sicknesses. If a renovation is inevitable, then avoid commencing and ending work in the Northeast, start on other sectors instead.

Zodiacs in "Disagreement" with the Tai Sui for Year 2010

*Tiger, Monkey, Snake and Pig*

The zodiac in disagreement with the Tai Sui this year are tiger, monkey, snake and pig. The disagreements are further termed as Conflicting Tai Sui, Offending Tai Sui, Torturing Tai Sui, Harming Tai Sui and Breaking Tai Sui.

1) Conflicting/Confronting Tai Sui

- The monkey conflicts/confronts the Tai Sui directly from the opposite direction in 2010. No one can win the Tai Sui because he will be the victorious wrestler of the year. This kind of energy conflict is the fiercest of all. It implies high risk, crisis, and inconsistency in fortune and difficulty in every aspect. Problems associated to such a disagreement are for example the death of a loved family member, accidents, injuries, death, hospitalization, money loss, bankruptcy, demotion and losing a job. There will also be possible changes in the love relationship; therefore one has to exercise caution. Therefore, the monkey should consider donating their blood and doing more charity in 2010.

2) Offending Tai Sui

- The tiger offends the Tai Sui in 2010. The seriousness of offending Tai Sui will be considered as serious to conflicting/confronting the Tai Sui. Those who offend the Tai Sui will feel weak for the whole year and suffers from bad temper which results in poor human relationship. Sickness will plague you constantly and the chances of getting wounded are high. Love Relationship will also suffer. Therefore one has to exercise regularly and eat nutritiously. One should refrain from keeping late nights as a lot of evil things will happen when one luck is not good.

3) Torturing Tai Sui

- Both the snake and monkey torture the Tai Sui in 2010. When one torture the Tai Sui, the year spells no good harvest. There will a lot of contradictory problems afflicting them. There will be aplenty of gossips, scandals and bad relationship with people are going to be a norm at work and even hard work will not pay off well at the end. Crisis after crisis will occur. Crisis implies troubles, obstructions, failures in investments and blood mishaps. Therefore this is going to be a non-fruitful year for those torturing the Tai Sui. The whole year will just go to waste. The best is to stay low profile. Do more charity for the year 2010.

4) Harming Tai Sui

- The snake also harms the Tai Sui in 2010. When the Tai Sui is harmed, one will not fare well as they cannot connect well with the rest of the eleven other zodiacs. They cannot get along with anyone, always in confrontation mode and will face difficulty at work. Their public image will become tarnished and this will be a major disadvantage for those who are in politics, showbiz, business and doing sales. Gossips and troublemakers are aplenty making them difficult to concentrate on getting more important things done.

5) Breaking Tai Sui

- The pig breaks the Tai Sui in 2010. This affliction will result in one's life going haywire and behaving in a disorderly manner. Although it is the lightest affliction, it cannot be ignored by all means else it will magnified to become bad. The slightest mistake will bring financial losses. For example one is going to get speeding tickets, fined for drunk driving, investigated by authorities for wrongdoings etc. Therefore, the pig will have to be extra tactful and careful in the year 2010. Fortunately, the pig is also in good union with Tai Sui this year.

Those with the following year of births are strictly prohibited from attending funeral, burial ceremony and visiting the sick:

1. Pig 1935, 1959, 1995
2. Monkey 1944, 1968, 2004
3. Tiger 1926, 1986
4. Snake 1977

The four zodiacs who are in disagreement with the Tai Sui are not recommended to get married in 2010. Traditionally, these zodiacs in disagreement with the Tai Sui will have to pray to him for blessings after 4th February 2010 with time of transition at 6.48am. Carry along the Tai Sui Amulet, the secret allies and friend amulet as the Tai Sui Amulet will neutralize the influences of magnetic field to the person concerned, protection against the odds and promises better safety.

The Secret Friend & Allies will help one to sail through in difficult situation thru’out the year with more helpful people, less troublemakers and obtaining a more peaceful year. This is also a method one can use if it goes against ones religion on worshipping the Tai Sui.

The Tai Sui 2010 Amulet provides protection and safeguard against many dangers from the Grand Duke Jupiter (Tai Sui). This protection charm is best carried along and hung in ones personal bedroom, workplace and car for protection against mishaps.

The Secret Allies and Secret Friends are considered as lucky charms for centuries. It is important to note that every zodiac have their own personal secret friend and allies. These secret friend and allies have special affinity to them and will help them achieve their endeavours.Carrying one of the charm is best for:

1. Those zodiacs that will be experiencing a good year, your secret friend and allies will help you make the most out of it to achieve maximum results.

2. Those zodiacs that will be experiencing a bad year, your secret friend and allies will help you through the challenges, protect against harm and provide great strength for persistency.

3. Those who are seeking for smooth relationships, good social life, activate their networking and business luck. These lucky charms not only bring good tidings to those afflicted with Tai Sui Shar, but also to all other unaffected zodiacs as well. Get the jade piece as we recommend something fragile so that they have the ability to break and resolve, take over potential conflicts, accidents or disasters.

Fengshui suggestions for "Fertility"

It is unfortunate fact of many people’s lives that infertility strikes where and when it wants. The desire to have a child is a natural, normal progression in a couple’s relationship. While there are certainly individuals and couples who choose to not become parents, an overwhelming majority are happier with the idea of starting and raising a family.

The reasons for infertility are wide and numerous. Some are focused on health issues for the potential mother, while others strike the would-be dad. Despite all of the amazing strides made by the medical community to battle infertility, many couples give up after long, expensive treatments make their lives miserable. It doesn’t have to be that way any longer. In addition to medical treatments, many couples are turning to Feng Shui and fertility suggestions to increase their odds of having a baby of their own.

The uninformed know that Feng Shui is related to decorating and arranging their homes. In actuality, this ancient practice is far more than that. It is a time honored Chinese philosophy that helps practitioners create an environment rich in harmony and balance in all areas of their lives.

Modifying your home in this tradition may help you and your partner achieve your goal of becoming pregnant. Using Feng Shui and fertility friendly practices are less stressful ways improve your chances of having a baby.

As we have already mentioned, Feng Shui is intended to completely balance and regulate every aspect of existence. In terms of conception, this harmony is nothing short of a miracle. Doctors and other medical professionals will be the first to tell you that it is essential to be at peace and relaxed during the conception phase of creating life. Both potential parents will experience the positive influences of good chi if their environment is conducive to the Feng Shui philosophy. For this reason, if none other, Feng Shui and fertility are a powerful combination.

To begin using Feng Shui and fertility to improve your chances of having a child, start outside. Take a look at your front entrance. Is there anything blocking good energy from moving into your home? One couple struggled with infertility for years. When a Feng Shui consultant recommended removing the tree that blocked their front door, the couple finally experienced success and became parents. Make sure that the main entrance to your home is clear and open to the flow of positive energies. You may consider getting a clear facteted crystal ball to hang near the entrance to the door to regulate the "chi" flowing into in the house as well as to deflate any "poison arrows".

With Feng Shui and fertility, the focus is a little different than what most of us are accustomed to. The focus is primarily on the man. All of you ladies out there can take a relaxing breath now. Feng Shui is guided by the Descendant’s Luck principle.

This luck determines the success of a husband or partner will have starting a family with his significant other. Learning the best ways to stimulate this luck is a beneficial practice for the man in the relationship to aid in the conception process.

This won’t come as any surprise, but the bedroom is instrumental in combining the forces of Feng Shui and fertility. The first step in the master bedroom is to make sure it is free from unwanted and unneeded clutter. Clutter stands in the way of good energy and makes it difficult to achieve a harmonious flow. This means to throw away the receipts on the dresser, pick the clothes up off of the floor, and arrange things neatly. Don’t forget about the closet either. It should be clear of any unused items. Best to leave any soft toys out of the room.

Now that the bedroom is ready for feng shui and fertility, it’s time to add some decorations and furniture placement that is perfect for encouraging the production of children. When you think about it, it makes sense. Elephants symbolize pregnancy in the Feng Shui tradition.

A couple trying to conceive should consider displaying elephant figurines in their sleeping space. Another animal reference that will help with fertility is fish. The symbol of two fish represents marital unity. As a matter of fact, any decoration you use in this room should involve the number two.

Throwing the color red around is helpful as well. Place two red paper lanterns (or the table lanterns/lampsa that you've during your "Guo Da Li" on either side of the bed. These represent the positive yang influence and will help increase fertility. A single piece of hollow bamboo is useful as well. Once again focusing on the potential father put a dragon on his side of the bed to flame his passion and add potency to the union. These well placed items are a good way to encourage the flow of energy through the room. Do not place any plants/flowers in the room when trying to conceive, if so, place a bowl/basket of fruits, the Promegranate is recommended.

With the correct use of Feng Shui and fertility energies, a couple struggling with infertility can give themselves an edge in the conception process. The creation of a relaxing, loving home environment will improve the couple’s chance at starting a family of their own.

Feng Shui Metal Cures

Feng Shui Metal Cures

Metal Cures in Feng Shui formulate an outstanding remedy when the evil energies as the 5 Yellow Star and 2 Black Star choose to take up annual residence in your home. The following Metal Cures will weaken the negative energies of these stars that will cause bad luck, ill health, mishaps, legal problems, accidents and just an overall run of bad luck.

Most Feng Shui Practitioners make the mistake of trying to control the nasty energy of the 2 & 5 with wood thus causing conflict. Metal is an element that weakens earth, if you imagine a metal spade digging up earth, you will never control it but will weaken it.

Wood on the other hand controls and destroys earth, imagine a tree's roots in the ground they would break up the earth and this would cause many problems from chronic illness to very bad luck.

Feng Shui Tips

Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese system of aesthetics that is believed to utilize the laws of heaven and earth to help one improve life by receiving positive energy. I have been learning feng shui from some folks and now I will inform you the ones that I have either used myself and benefited, or adviced to some of my friends who have benefited. Some of the tips have not been tried but these are ones that almost all of the feng shui masters I have met swear by. I will omit the ones which either I have not found to work, or there were contradictive opinions from the masters.

1. There should be no obstructions outside your main door. If there is an obstructing wall or a staircase, you should alter the entrance.

2. There should be no mirrors in the house directly opposite the main door. Such mirrors result in reflecting back the good energy which enters the house.

3. Front door should not face a toilet door. Since toilet is a negative area, the good energy coming from the main door enters the toilet and gets drained away. If you have this arrangement, change the entrance of the toilet from another room or from another wall. If you cannot do this, construct a solid barrier between them. If the toilet is very near the main door, change the entrance.

4. Keep a bowl of regular unrefined sea salt in the toilet, preferably on the window sill, if it exists. There are lots of toxins in the toilet and salt absorbs it. You should also replace the salt as and when it gets soggy.

5. Avoid 3 doors in one line. If this happens, energy flows at high speed and adversely affects the occupants of the last room. You can change the middle door to avoid this problem.

6. Avoid top floor flats if the water tank is above the flat. Since water at a height is considered dangerous, sleeping below it is very risky.

7. Keep the front door free of obstructions. Since good energy flows from the main door, any obstruction like a shoe rack will stop or reduce the flow of good energy.

8. Never sleep on a double bed with two separate mattresses. This is very bad according to feng shui, because sleeping on separate mattresses lead to separation. Many difficult marriages on the verge of divorce have been said to have been saved, just by correcting this problem.

9. Do not keep mirrors in the bedroom, especially ones facing the bed. These days, couples have a fancy of keeping mirrors not only in front of the bed, but also on the ceiling! Such mirrors create major disturbances in the marriage and may even lead to a third person entering the relationship.

10. Avoid sleeping in front of the door. It is important that neither the head not the feet are directly in front of the door. This reduces the life of the person and also affects his health.

11. Do not keep leaking taps unrepaired for long. Since water is considered wealth, leaking taps is said to drain your money.

12. Do not sit with an open window behind you, as it drains positive energy and causes stress. You are also at risk of being cheated.

13. Water and fire are opposite, so never keep the kitchen burners and the saink/water pot either adjacent to each other, or opposite to each other. Keep them away and facing different directions.

14. Try to have at least one meal together with your family. This enhances the relationship between the family members. Remember, a family that eats together, lives together, stays together!

15. It is a good idea to have a mirror reflecting the dining table. It creates an impression of double the food on the table, and proposes that the family will never lack food.

16. Never display pictures or paintings that depict scenes of war and violence. It leads to arguments in the family.

17. Avoid open book shelves; keep them covered. Open shelves create “killing breath” which is harmful to the occupants of that room.

18. If you have clocks, watches and other old appliances, remove them at the earliest or get them repaired. Keeping them at home or office brings bad luck.

The Magic Gourd - Calabash (Wu Lou)

The “Magic Gourd” – Calabash or Wu Lou

Calabash (Wu Lou) is an ancient classical Feng Shui remedy against sickness energy. The calabash symbolises the image of Dui trigram which is yin metal from Metal.

Sickness energy in the flying stars feng shui formula has the attribute of earth element. The calabash being yin metal will weaken and contain the sickness energy, hence providing health for you and your family.

When place next to your bed or in the house, the calabash will absorb the sickness energy and protect you and your family members from sickness. For people with illness, the calabash may not cure the illness but it will definitely reduce the suffering and the seriousness.

Unsure of what Wu Lou to get, drop us an email at

A Common Question Raised by Our Customers:

Quote:

My husband and I are both holding well paid jobs but we never seem to be able to save. Money that comes in quickly flows out all the time. Even when we try to budget ourselves, money somehow still flows out! Is there something we can do to stop this?

How To Take Compass Reading - Part 1

How to take the Compass Readings (Part 1)

Once you know how your compass works, the next step is to become familiar with taking directions.

Here are some pointers before you start.

Where do you stand to take the compass reading? Do you stand near the door, in the center of the room, or in the center of the home? In fact you can take your compass reading from anywhere inside the house; wherever you stand in the room, you will, theoretically, be getting the same reading. The north, south, or any of the directions do not change simply because you take the reading from a different place. Take directions from anywhere inside the room or house that makes you feel comfortable, and which makes analysis easy.

In order to be accurate I always advocate a minimum of 3 readings, the average of which should be taken in the interests of accuracy. The 3 readings will vary slightly: this is due to the presence of different types of energy in the atmosphere, which affect the compass.

Sometimes the variance can be as high as 10°. Variances should not be a cause for alarm unless they exceed 15°. Such a large variance often indicates that the energy is not harmonizing properly. If you move some of the furniture around or reposition the television or stereo this usually solves the problem. Electronic equipment can send out strong signals that will have an effect on your compass reading compass reading.

I have been advised that the best way to take compass reading for Feng Shui purposes is to:

Take one reading from just inside the front door looking out.

Take a second reading from about 3 feet (1m) inside the door.

Take a third reading from about 15 feet (4.5m) inside the home looking out.

When you take these compass readings, place the compass on a flat surface preferably a table/chair.

Feng Shui Door’s Compass Direction and Corresponding Five Chinese Elements

Your doorway faces one of the eight compass directions, which corresponds to one of the five elements. The element to which your door is aligned is the element that rules our space. You need to take a compass reading of your doorway to determine the element that rules your space.

To do this correctly, stand in your doorway facing squarely out. The direction you find on the compass indicates the door’s element.

If your door faces north, your space is ruled by the element Water.

If your door faces northeast, your space is ruled by the element Earth.

If your door faces east, your space is ruled by the element Wood.

If your door faces southeast, your space is ruled by the element Wood.

If your door faces south, your space is ruled by the element Fire.

If your door faces southwest, your space is ruled by the element Earth.

If your door faces west, your space is ruled by the element Metal.

If your door faces northwest, your space is ruled by the element Metal.

If the direction you are facing appears between two compass direction, the following will help you determine which to use.

Looking at figure, you can see that north extends from 337.30 to 22.30, northeast from 22.30 to 67.30, east from 67.30 to 112.30; southeast from 112.30 to 157.30, south from 157.30 to 202.30, southwest from 202.30 to 247.30, west from 247.30 to 292.30, and northwest from 292.30 to 337.30

Feng Shui For Office (Part 1)

The Feng Shui for offices makes use of some simple Feng Shui Tips and offers some guidelines that will help foster harmonious living in your work environment and teach you to how to manage office spaces to yield prosperity. These tips are simple but time tested Feng Shui practices which can be used for enhancing your workplace.

Remove clutter

Your office must be organized and arranged efficiently. Clutter according to Feng Shui stimulates negative Chi (energy) and should be kept to a minimum. Remove whatever extraneous materials are lying in your office. By clearing away the physical clutter that you have been confronting on a daily basis, you free up your mental, emotional burden and feel light, cheerful and optimistic in your reinvigorated working space.

Position of the desk

Keep your desk in the commanding position. The commanding position means a position of power, where you have a direct view of the door, a pleasant view out the window and a wall behind you for stability. This position of the desk according to the Feng Shui office offers you the maximum control. If you do not have any support of a wall behind you, place a dragon tortoise with child or a painting of a mountain behind you to gain support of bosses and harmony amongst colleagues and to prevent back stabbing.

Shape of your desk

Shape of your desk can affect your mood and level of productivity in the workplace. Rounded curves are flowing, encouraging the flow of creativity. A kidney-shaped desk follows the natural curves of the human body and is said to give you a subconscious feeling of inner alignment. However, many a times, we are unable to select the shape of our desk.

Placing the plants

Place plants in your work and help you stay connected to the natural world. Since the green color spurs creativity and new ideas it helps you to have creative element in the office. In Feng Shui practice keeping plants helps to have positive Chi flow in corners which other wise are neglected spaces devoid of any energy. Green plants also act as a filtering system, reducing toxins and circulating stagnant air.

Choosing the correct light

The best light is natural daylight, so move your desk close to a window but never have your desk directly in front of window or fluorescent lights that cast a glare, causing eyestrain and exhaustion. You may improve your mood and energy dramatically by replacing fluorescent lights with warm lights that don’t cast a glare.

Three Killings & Grand Duke Jupiter "Tai Sui"

Apart from the Flying stars, there are 2 more locations to watch out for.

They are the Three Killings (Sarm Saat) and the Grand Duke Jupiter (Tai Sui) which change their locations every year.

Three Killings take the form of three types of bad luck and this usually comes in the form of accident, financial loss and illness. Never sit with you back facing the Three Killings when you are working or studying. Do not undertake any renovation or construction works in this sector as this will activate the affliction. Excellent Feng Shui cures for the Three Killings with The Three Divine Guardians, the Dragon Tortoise or the Laughing Buddha. Place the antidotes in affected sector.

The Grand Duke Jupiter is widely respected and paid attention to by the Chinese. Each year, the Chinese will identify his location in the home / working premises so as not to inadvertently disturb him. It is also important to check if their Zodiac sign will be in direct conflict with the Grand Duke in that year. If that is the case, you should carry a Tai Sui Amulet/Grand Duke Appeaser
throughout the year. Contrary to the Three Killings, one should never sit or sleep directly facing the Grand Duke, or the consequences can be very bad. Do not disturb the Grand Duke by undertaking any renovation or construction work in the afflicted sector or it will incur his wrath and bring misfortunes. If that happened, appease the Grand Duke immediately with a Pi Yao by placing it in the afflicted sector or wearing it as an amulet.

Use a good compass to accurately determine the direction of your home to locate the Three Killings and the Grand Duke and take necessary precautionary steps so as not to activate or offend them.

Kitchen's Feng Shui

1. Do not place your kitchen under or next to a bathroom. A bathroom is deemed as a place where we wash away our dirt and where the toilet is located, and therefore, having a kitchen under this is deemed very inauspicious.

2. Do not place your stove under a big beam. A beam is considered a heavy support and if your stove is under it, it is like the energies of your stove are being oppressed by this beam. Not good to cook in such a situation. Why? Because the stove is symbolic of wealth and in such a negative placement of stove, it means your wealth is being suppressed. You can’t prosper.

3. Do not face your stove to water basin or refrigerator, this can lead to arguments and conflict within the family. Fire and water are opposites of and fight each other, and so the placements of the sink and stove are important. If they are directly opposite each other, then this may lead to arguments, conflicts and figthing among family members. Conflicts and tension at home means negative energies. A stove and sink side by side also means a weakening of the energy of the kitchen.

4. Do not clutter your kitchen - stagnant and dirty chi is no good for food. Clean out your food cupboards, pantry and refrigerator regularly.

5. Do not place stove near windows and skylights - the chi can flow out of the house through them.

6. Do not design the kitchen door be in a direct line with the back door or front door of the house. That placement allows the chi to flow from the kitchen all the way outside. If your doors are placed in line, keep the kitchen door closed, or use plants to block the flow.

7. Do not delay in maintaining the stove. A stove that is not in good working order implies a problem with financial resources. If any part of the stove (burners, oven light, fan, etc.) does not work, get it fixed as soon as possible.

8. Do not leave you stove unused - an unused stove implies untapped resources or ignored opportunities. Even if all you do is boil water for tea, rotate which burner you set the kettle on so that all of them get regular use! And use the oven, too, from time to time, instead of always relying on the microwave.

9. Do not place your kitchen in the North West sector of your house, because it will bring negative elements to your family. The NW sector of your house represents where Heaven’s energy flows into your house, and by having a kitchen there, it means that fire will destroy this good energy. A term for this kitchen location is "Fire At Heaven’s Gate." The family breadwinner could lose his job, lose his wealth, or worse, lose his health. If your kitchen is already in this sector, try to move the cooking elements like the stove or oven away from this sector. Place some cures/remedies if your kitchen happens to be in this sector, email us at worldofengshui@hotmail.com for the recommendations.

10. Do not use any odd shaped objects in the pots or frying pan at any time. They may seem like piercing weapons of some sort. I will discuss some of the remedies that can be carried out if the above Kitchen Feng Shui rules are broken later…..

Meanwhile, for those of you looking for a new home to buy or rent and you believe a little in FS , I hope these Kitchen FS tips will help you to avoid getting an "inauspicious" kitchen. There are also many other "Do’s & Don’ts" for other aspects of a home but we start with this post for now.
