Feng Shui Rooster

What rooster symbolizes and how to place the object?

Traditionally, the rooster brings about good fortune and joyful events in Feng Shui. Rooster counters poison, kills worms and is the only animal that is able to eat centipede. It’s an extremely useful animal in terms of Feng Shui as it has a strong, abled, confident and protective character.

Because of its ability and strong character, it is often associated to be able to cure specific situations such as

1. Bad/Negative energy caused by roads or drainage pipes that look like centipede formation in the neighbourhood or apartment

2. Bad/Negative energy caused by cubicles that look like centipede formation in an office

3. If you have kids at home who tend to suffer from parasitic worms/gastrointestinal problem in the stomach. A rooster would help to clear and “eat up” any worms in the child's stomach.

4. Dissolving political problems in office because of its strong behaviour and influence to put things under control especially if you have bosses nick-picking on you constantly.

5. Offers protection against business competitor for businesses because of its ability to counter poison

6. Offer prevention against third party love affairs. 3rd party are known as the centipede, therefore the rooster is able to guard against it.

7. Enhance recognition luck because the rooster is linked to the kingdom of winged creatures in charged by the fiery Phoenix.

Display the rooster in the following locations depending on your aspiration:

1. Displaying a Rooster will help to solve political problems in office, backstabbing, arguments and harmful peers when placed on your office desk. For modern offices that have cubicles that resemble a centipede arrangement, place the rooster on the boss' desk to kill the centipede that causes quarreling, havoc and irritation in office.

2. For businessmen, it is best to get a rooster facing outwards at the main entrance to ensure your competitors are kept at bay. The powerful rooster will help you counter attack their poisonous threat.

3. For married couples, you should be proud if your spouses are attractive. But you should also cautiously prevent centipede third party from affecting your relationship. Place a golden rooster facing outwards at the main door to prevent your spouse from being snatched away or in their “peach blossom direction”.

4. For those seeking for fame luck, you may place a proud rooster at the south corner of your living room or at your business premise to increase recognition luck.

5. For neighbourhood and apartments that has problematic centipede piping, roads or drain, the rooster is definitely a must at the dining area.

6. For kids that are suffering from gastrointestinal problems in their stomach, it is best to place the rooster in their bedroom.

How To Take Compass Reading - Part 1

How to take the Compass Readings (Part 1)

Once you know how your compass works, the next step is to become familiar with taking directions.

Here are some pointers before you start.

Where do you stand to take the compass reading? Do you stand near the door, in the center of the room, or in the center of the home? In fact you can take your compass reading from anywhere inside the house; wherever you stand in the room, you will, theoretically, be getting the same reading. The north, south, or any of the directions do not change simply because you take the reading from a different place. Take directions from anywhere inside the room or house that makes you feel comfortable, and which makes analysis easy.

In order to be accurate I always advocate a minimum of 3 readings, the average of which should be taken in the interests of accuracy. The 3 readings will vary slightly: this is due to the presence of different types of energy in the atmosphere, which affect the compass.

Sometimes the variance can be as high as 10°. Variances should not be a cause for alarm unless they exceed 15°. Such a large variance often indicates that the energy is not harmonizing properly. If you move some of the furniture around or reposition the television or stereo this usually solves the problem. Electronic equipment can send out strong signals that will have an effect on your compass reading compass reading.

I have been advised that the best way to take compass reading for Feng Shui purposes is to:

Take one reading from just inside the front door looking out.

Take a second reading from about 3 feet (1m) inside the door.

Take a third reading from about 15 feet (4.5m) inside the home looking out.

When you take these compass readings, place the compass on a flat surface preferably a table/chair.

Feng Shui Door’s Compass Direction and Corresponding Five Chinese Elements

Your doorway faces one of the eight compass directions, which corresponds to one of the five elements. The element to which your door is aligned is the element that rules our space. You need to take a compass reading of your doorway to determine the element that rules your space.

To do this correctly, stand in your doorway facing squarely out. The direction you find on the compass indicates the door’s element.

If your door faces north, your space is ruled by the element Water.

If your door faces northeast, your space is ruled by the element Earth.

If your door faces east, your space is ruled by the element Wood.

If your door faces southeast, your space is ruled by the element Wood.

If your door faces south, your space is ruled by the element Fire.

If your door faces southwest, your space is ruled by the element Earth.

If your door faces west, your space is ruled by the element Metal.

If your door faces northwest, your space is ruled by the element Metal.

If the direction you are facing appears between two compass direction, the following will help you determine which to use.

Looking at figure, you can see that north extends from 337.30 to 22.30, northeast from 22.30 to 67.30, east from 67.30 to 112.30; southeast from 112.30 to 157.30, south from 157.30 to 202.30, southwest from 202.30 to 247.30, west from 247.30 to 292.30, and northwest from 292.30 to 337.30
